ROUGH RIG MEASUREMENTS

After placing the rig on a new Seawind haul, the manual gives no detailed measurements for the shroud, forestay and backstay. To help rig you’re Seawind for the first time. I have taken some rough rig measurements, which are a good starting point. The final adjustments will have to be made on the water for different wind conditions.

All the measurements are take form screw to hole or hole to hole. Boom vane measurement metal rod. Tension measurements taken with rig tension gauge.

Note: For ( F ) the Jib Boom swivel I use a #1 fishing swivel 1 1/4 inch or 31mm long. The length of the swivel is important because the forestay, backstay measurements were taking with this swivel in place.

Note: After making the rough rig adjustments, stand back and look at the rig make sure everything look right. Then stand behind the boat to see if the mast is straight on the boat. If something does not look right make the necessary adjustments to get it right. For additional information see Sailing & Rigging - Rigging Measurement Forum.
